Why: While new to our list this year, Max Spann is well-established and has been in business since 1890. During the Great Recession, its unique accelerated auction marketing program achieved results despite the challenging economy.
Wow: In December 2011, the firm sold the 740-acre Scott Farm (pictured above) in Morris County, New Jersey, for just under $5.3 million. The historic property dates back to 1750 and is considered the crown jewel of the county’s farmland preservation program.
