For firearm enthusiasts, few names evoke as much reverence as Henry.
Known for traditional design, Henry Repeating Arms delivers rifles that honor tradition, along with new models that preserve the company’s heritage while giving modern-day shooters updated options.
Henry’s lineup ranges from exquisite, limited-edition pieces to innovative platforms designed for everyday use at home or afield. Two exemplary models, the New Original Henry Silver Deluxe Engraved and the Homesteader 9mm Carbine, showcase the manufacturer’s proficiency at both ends of the spectrum.
We sampled each during our annual 2024 Land Report Gear Guide shoot and were pleased with what we experienced.
Why Henry Repeating Arms is Revered by Firearm Enthusiasts
Founded in 1996 by Louis and Anthony Imperato, Henry Repeating Arms was built on a mission to uphold a storied name in American firearms manufacturing. Drawing inspiration from Benjamin Tyler Henry’s original lever-action rifle—first produced in 1860 and often called “the gun that won the West”—the modern Henry company has become synonymous with traditional Western values and is well-known for its lever-action rifles.
Henry Repeating Arms manufactures over 200 models, all backed by an industry-leading Lifetime Warranty, with a guarantee of 100-percent satisfaction.
Every firearm is proudly “Made in America or not made at all”, a slogan that highlights Henry’s commitment to domestic manufacturing. From its headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to a secondary facility in Bayonne, New Jersey, Henry rifles are a testament to the enduring legacy of all-American ingenuity and pride.
Henry’s Commitment to American-Made Excellence in Firearms
The New Original Henry Silver Deluxe Engraved is a “fully functional work of art,” says Henry’s VP of Communications Dan Clayton-Luce. It’s a line-for-line reproduction of Benjamin Tyler Henry’s groundbreaking 1860 patent for the first successful repeating rifle, aside from the more modern .44-40 WCF caliber, and it encapsulates the spirit of the American frontier with looks that make it a showstopper.

The Homesteader 9mm Carbine: Practical Innovation for Modern Shooters
A nod to Henry’s proficiency at both ends of the spectrum, the Homesteader 9mm Carbine has been designed with utility as its top attribute. Ideally suited for livestock protection or ensuring peace of mind, the Homesteader is a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine that offers:
- Simple and direct blowback semi-automatic operation, relying solely on the expanding gases of the cartridge to cycle the bolt.
- Ergonomic fit and unassuming style for practical use.
- Interchangeable magazine wells for Henry, Glock®, SIG®, or M&P® magazines, adding versatility.
It’s available with or without a threaded muzzle for use with a suppressor and comes with a blued steel barrel, hard-anodized aluminum receiver, and sealed American walnut.
For shooters who prefer illuminated or magnified optics, the receiver is drilled and tapped for a Weaver 63B base. Weighing just 6.6 pounds and measuring under 36 inches in length (for the threaded variants), the Homesteader is lightweight, durable, and highly maneuverable. It’s an ideal choice for shooters or cowboys who need a reliable carbine to accompany their sidearm and handle the rigorous demands of daily life on the ranch or range. (MSRP: $928).
