Farmland Partners Inc.(FPI) acquired 485 acres of Illinois farmland. The properties include a 286-acre Edgar County farm for $4.8 million and a 199-acre Fulton County farm for $1.8 million. Regarding the acquisition, FPI Chairman and CEO Paul Pittman said, “These farms are especially attractive to our business because they adjoin other farmland in our portfolio, which will allow the company to expand its footprint in these areas, improve farming efficiency for our tenants, and drive strong rental rates.” Since January 2022, FPI has acquired 11 farms with a total of 3,056 acres.
