On February 12, Acres.com announced that Matthieu Pellerin, the founder of Google’s Growth Lab, had joined the land-data platform’s board of directors.

During his 17 years at Google, Pellerin led the company’s central development function, known as Growth Lab. In that role, he partnered with more than 100 teams across Google’s ad products, enterprise cloud solutions, consumer applications, and hardware devices to promote market strategies and product advancement. Before that, Pellerin worked on the company’s local business listing and ad products: Google My Business and AdWords Express.

Pellerin will advise Acres.com and its affiliate company, AcreTrader, to enhance both product and revenue growth. The platforms currently provide data for more than 150 million parcels of land nationwide. The stated mission of Acres is “to bring transparency and efficiency to land data.”

“Matthieu is an exceptional leader with a rare combination of deep technical expertise and a keen understanding of market growth,” Acres.com and AcreTrader CEO Carter Malloy said in a news release announcing the board appointment. “His guidance will be instrumental as we continue to expand Acres’ impact.”

During his time with Google, Pellerin gained experience in scaling businesses, particularly when it came to technology and mapping. He has stated that his goal is to “drive transformative growth through people, technology, and innovation,” and once declared that “agility is the new growth.”

“I’ve long been fascinated by land as an asset class and became an early adopter of the AcreTrader platform,” Pellerin said in the release. “Land professionals need powerful, intuitive tools to understand complex datasets, and that’s exactly what Acres is building. I look forward to working with Carter and the team to scale the platform’s reach and impact.”
