BEST SELLER. Varsity Headwear’s all-around sports cap is available in four sizes and more than a dozen colors.
A couple of years ago, I was cruising through the Chicago Market when Lindsay Morton Gaiser at Andrisen Morton suggested I pop in and meet Alex and Sebastian Salvesen Adams. Turns out these two Norwegians have elevated the all-American baseball cap to the big leagues. Great guys. Great gear.

“I’ve been accused of being a ‘man of many hats,’ both literally and figuratively. On the figurative side, I have been a musician, a fishing guide, a lawyer, and for the last 30-plus years, a ranch broker. On the literal side, for as long as I can remember, I have loved hats and worn everything from a French fisherman’s cap to a common fedora. “It would be impossible to pick a favorite, but I do remember visiting Rand’s Custom Hatters in Billings soon after I moved to Montana in 1992. At the time, Rand’s used a contraption that looked like the alien spacecraft in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It was placed on the head to measure every contour of the skull. I was looking for the quintessential cowboy hat and found it there. I don’t wear it all that often anymore, but there are occasions when it begs to be worn. And it still fits better than any hat I’ve ever owned.”
