Warner Bros. recently released a 4K restored Blu-ray version of this ranching saga in conjunction with The Film Foundation. Set in Marfa and filmed across West Texas, Giant was a box office blockbuster and proved itself to be one of the top-grossing films of 1956. Director George Stevens captured the enormity, splendor, and starkness of rugged ranch country. William Mellor’s lush cinematography also won critical acclaim as it heightened the societal and cultural disparities in the script. Read more HERE. LR EndNote US
