Coca-Cola Commits $2 Billion to Citrus Growers

Minute Maid’s parent company is funding the planting of five million orange trees southwest of Orlando in DeSoto, Hardee, and Polk Counties. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced that over the next two decades Coca-Cola will acquire all of the fruit produced — a $2 billion commitment. The Florida Department of Citrus estimates the program will generate more than 4,100 direct and indirect jobs. Read more HERE.
