Stefan Soloviev is no ordinary farmer. And it’s not because he owns hundreds of thousands of acres in Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Over the last quarter-century, the native New Yorker has created an agribusiness juggernaut out West. From grain storage to rail lines, renewable energy to carbon sequestration, on farms, in fields, and at feed yards, this innovative entrepreneur has created a best-in-class enterprise. Along the way, Soloviev made his share of mistakes, which he readily admits to Lisa Martin in a rare and revealing interview. But he has also built a remarkable team of longtime local operators and earned the respect of his fellow landowners, including Land Report 100er Shannon Kizer, who weighs in on his friend and neighbor.
