Domain Acquires Southern Timber Tracts

Domain Timber Advisors acquired 3,389 acres of timberland in Georgia and Alabama. The subsidiary of Domain Capital Group now manages more than 264,000 acres of timberland. The 2,029-acre GFP Flint property abuts Flint River and Potato Creek and features more than a mile of river frontage and harvest-ready loblolly pine. The 1,360-acre Walley property is roughly 40 miles northwest of Mobile, Alabama, and consists of two longleaf tracts and loblollies primed for pine straw production. According to Peter Walker, vice president of investments and timberland assets at Domain Timber, the “acquisitions offer immense potential” and will enable the firm to improve upon the southeastern acquisitions’ local environmental qualities. Managing director and CEO of Natural Resources Joe Sanderson says, “the accessibility of the South Alabama property and the river frontage of the Middle Georgia tracts [will allow] for higher-and-better land use sales.” Read more HERE.
