Vermont landowners John and Joy Primmer partnered with the Vermont Land Trust to permanently conserve their 21-acre Wildstone Farm in Pownal for farmland use. The Land Trust received a grant from the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board to purchase the development rights. Located on the west side of the Dome in the Green Mountains, the property contains well-drained soils with abundant access to water. Certified as an organic farm since 1989, Wildstone Farm is one of four medium-sized vegetable farms responsible for most of the locally grown produce in Bennington County. The Vermont Land Trust has preserved a total of 2,183 acres in Pownal, which equates to approximately seven percent of the township’s land mass. Read more HERE.
